Sarah Reznek is a senior consultant in Bingham Consulting and of counsel at Bingham McCutchen. She previously served as consumer protection project director and chief counsel at the National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG) and a senior trial lawyer at the Federal Trade Commission. She has more than 20 years experience with state and federal actions and their legal, regulatory and legislative impact on the business community. She advises companies on regulatory investigations, including multistate and multi-agency inquiries, consumer protection issues, and political and legislative strategies. In addition, she counsels clients regarding compliance with state and federal unfair and deceptive acts and practices laws as well as follow-on rules, regulations and guidelines. She has represented companies in a range of industries including telecommunications, pharmaceutical, technology, financial services and consumer products. During her nine years at NAAG, Sarah interacted with all 50 state attorney general offices on myriad issues, including consumer protection, enforcement priorities and strategies, legislative matters, training, and public education. She also worked with the attorneys general in areas such as privacy, telecommunications, financial services and pharmaceutical pricing. In 2002, she was awarded the NAAG Staff Award in recognition of outstanding contributions to the attorneys general and to the association.
In her eight-year tenure as a senior trial lawyer at the Federal Trade Commission, Sarah supervised and conducted all phases of investigation and litigation of unfair and deceptive marketing cases before federal district courts throughout the country. In 1992, she was named as “One of the Best FTC Lawyers,” following a survey by FTC Watch.
Before joining the Federal Trade Commission, Sarah served as a prosecutor with the District of Columbia. Prior to that, she served as a clerk to the Hon. Julia Cooper Mack of the District of Columbia Court of Appeals.
